Cookie Policy

This policy explains how DIRE MONEY TRANSMITTER LLC, trading as DireBit, uses cookies, local browser storage and similar technologies on direbbit.com and in the DireBit and DireBit Wallet applications.

You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using the Cookie preferences link, which also appears in the footer of every page. Withdrawing consent deletes anything that was stored under it.

Section 1

What these technologies are

A cookie is a small text file a website asks your browser to store. Local storage and session storage are browser features that let a site keep small amounts of data on your device. Mobile applications use equivalent on-device storage. They all allow a service to remember something between page loads or sessions.

Section 2

How we use them

We keep our use deliberately minimal. We use these technologies for three purposes only: to keep you signed in and secure, to remember your own preferences, and to understand in aggregate how the service performs.

We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. We do not sell personal information, we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we do not embed third-party advertising or social media tracking pixels on direbbit.com.

Section 3

Categories we use

Strictly necessarySecurity, load balancing, and remembering the cookie choice you make here. In the signed-in applications, also authentication and session management. Not required — the service cannot work without theseSession to 6 months
FunctionalRemembering preferences you create yourself, such as your favorites watchlist.Required — off until you turn it onUntil you clear it
Performance and analyticsNot currently used. This website runs no analytics of any kind.
Advertising and cross-site trackingNot used.

Section 4

Exactly what we store

This is the complete list of what direbbit.com places on your device. There is nothing else.

NameTypeCategoryPurposeLifetime
direbbit_consentCookie (first-party)Strictly necessary Records the choice you made in the consent bar, so we do not ask again on every page. Contains only your choice, the time it was made, and whether a Global Privacy Control signal was present. It contains no identifier and is never sent anywhere except back to our own server with your page requests. 6 months
direbbit.favoritesLocal storageFunctional The list of trading pairs you starred in the app interface. Written only if you accept the functional category, and deleted immediately if you withdraw it. It never leaves your browser. Until cleared

If you decline the functional category, the favorites feature stays switched off rather than storing anything silently. You can turn it on later from the Favorites screen or from Cookie preferences.

Section 6

This website specifically

The public pages of direbbit.com — the home page and every page in this Legal Center — are static files. They load no third-party scripts, no third-party web fonts, no analytics tags and no advertising pixels. Every script and stylesheet is served from direbbit.com itself.

The single cookie listed in section 4 is set only once you answer the consent bar, and it records nothing but that answer. Additional strictly necessary cookies for authentication and session management apply once you sign in to an account in the DireBit applications.

Section 7

Other ways to control them

  • In your browser. Every major browser lets you view, block and delete cookies and clear local storage, usually under Settings › Privacy. Clearing site data removes both items listed in section 4, and you will be asked for your choice again on your next visit.
  • Global Privacy Control. We honor the GPC signal. If your browser sends one, we record a refusal of all optional storage automatically, without showing you the bar, and treat it as an opt-out of sale and sharing under applicable U.S. state law. You can still opt in afterwards from Cookie preferences if you want to.
  • Do Not Track. There is still no common standard for how sites should respond to DNT. Because we do not track you across other sites in any event, our behavior is the same whether or not DNT is set.
  • On mobile. Your device settings let you reset or limit advertising identifiers. We do not use advertising identifiers.

Section 8

Changes and contact

We will update this policy if our use of these technologies changes, and the "Last updated" date above will change with it. For questions, contact [email protected]. How we handle personal information more generally is set out in our Privacy Policy.
